Operatig principle

 

Filters with active coals are used to filter water from natural sources by passing this through a layer of active coal which retains the contaminants present in the water. Unfiltered raw water enter the filter through the influent conduit (1) via the butterfly electrode (2) and the T branch (3) reaching the octagonal chamber (4). Through the perforated pipes (5) the water is uniformly distributed over the surface of the filter later (6). By running through the filter layer, it passes through the strainers (7) and enters the compartment (8) from the bottom of the filter. From here, the water passes through the T branch (9), solenoid valve DN150 (10), and reaches the filtered water outlet pipe (11). The activated charcoal filter bed is regenerated by a reverse water wash, which is performed automatically at fixed time intervals.

The wash water passes through the following route: influent conduit of the washing water (12), solenoid valve (13), T branch (9), the compartment (8) from the bottom of the filter , the strainers (7), filter layer (6), pipes DN 80 (5), octogonal room (4) T branches (3), solenoid valve (14) and the evacuation pipe of the wash water (15).

The operation of the filters is managed by an electronic automation, which allows reverse rinsing at regular intervals. At greater intervals there is also a regeneration of the filter layer by blowing compressed air. Compressed air is introduced through the pipe (16), through the tap (17), the perforated pipes (18), compartment (8) from the bottom of the filter, the strains (7), filter layer (6), reaches in the superior cavity of the filter, where it is evacuated in the atmosphere through the vent and vent valve (19). In the superior and side there are two openings (20)

Field of use

Active carbon water filters are used are used in the water treatment plants in the drinking water supply system.

 

Advantages

 

- Active carbon filters have the advantage over other filtration methods, because they use activated carbon as a medium, which removes many contaminants from the water, chemical disinfectants such as color, odor and unpleasant taste, turbidity, free chlorine, trihalomethanes (THMs), chloroform, insecticides, herbicides, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PNAs), polychlorinated biphenols (PCBs) ), trichlorethylene, trichloroethane, benzene, and hundreds of other contaminants that may be present in water.

- Regeneration of the filter layer can be done in a short period of time with counter pressure and compressed air.

- The interior surface is coated with corrosion and erosion protection films for a long service life.

The characteristics of the filter type, such as the diameter of the cylindrical body, body volume, nominal and maximum flow rate of the filtered water, water flow used to recycle the activated carbon layer by reverse scrubbing and the amount of activated carbon required to form the filtration layer listed in the table below:
